Windows HDL Image Install Program
Snyggt windowsprogram av Gadgetfreak för att lägga in PS2 spel på hårddisken genom att koppla den till en PC.
Version 1.7.6
Added support for Toxic OS V0.41 compatibility mode 4.
Bug Corrections:
Corrupted partition links when adding images that filled the lower 128Gb of a Toxic OS Extended APA drive.
Repairing Toxic OS Extended APA format drives when the lower 128Gb was completey full.
Repairing a drive with a Toxic OS ELF partition would erase the partition.
Version 1.7.5
Corrected a bug with repairing Toxic format drives, many thanks to Nekon for finding the fault so quickly!
Version 1.7.4
Finally finished the Scan/Repair function which also incorporates an undo feature in case of bad results.
Implemented a change in the partition code which allows it to accept unused holes in the drive structure. This has been the biggest cause of incompatabilities when swapping between WinHIIP & HDL Dump.
Added an Option to allow editing of the extended compatability modes used by the patched HDLoader.
Stopped commas from being entered as display names for images.
Corrected a bug that kept a file lock on the most recently installed image file.
Changed the way the image selection checkboxes were handled as they were invisible with some 3rd party windows addons.
Reinstated Windows 98/ME support with some enhancements to the way it works.
Forced the Utilities functions to de-select the current drive in order to flush the buffered data.
Version 1.7.3
Corrected several bugs that stopped the majority of "ppf" patch files from being accepted as valid.
Corrected a bug that stopped drives over 256Gb working with Toxic's Extended APA partitions.
Cured a problem with multipart image files introduced with the last version.
Extended the number of scanned drives to 16 for anybody with more drives than sense.
Improved the Read / Write Drive Structure functions to aid in remotely repairing drives.
Moved lots of functions around and added a Utilities button, from which you can select the new Drive Scan & Repair function, although you can only Scan at the moment, the Repair will follow as soon as I can finish it.
Version 1.7.2
Reverted Add CD / DVD volume size detection as people were having problems with some discs. It had only been changed to try and add DVD-9 support, which failed anyway.
Re-extended the Image Modes display to display all 32 possible bits although only the first 3 can be edited within WinHIIP the remaining bits will be preserved as long as the Image Settings are not edited. These extra modes can be used by crazyc's latest HDLoader patch.
V1.7.1
Corrected a mistake that meant any drives formatted with Quick Erase Mode might not be formatted correctly.
Basically if you formatted this way and your drive is accepted by the PS2 as formatted then you don't have a problem.
Added two functions to Program Options to be used for problem solving of peoples hard drives.
V1.7.0
Full Toxic OS standard & extended (V0.3) operation modes.
Support for installing DVD-9 (Dual Layer) image files supported by Toxic OS V0.3. These can be produced by DVD Decrypter.
Selective copying of images between hard drives.
Prompted regeneration of PS2 Master Boot Record if your PC blanks it when starting up windows.
Image file extraction will now limit / split files to 3.999Gb for FAT file systems.
Improved Partition code for images over 4Gb if using Toxic OS.
The Select Drive list now indicates drives with PC Master Boot Records to stop confusion.
Support for CrazyC's experimental DVD-9 (Dual Layer) HDLoader patch.
V1.6.6:
Corrected a bug that caused the program to hang after extracting images.
Modification of the MBR code to stop the erasing of the DMS HD Explorer V1.31 signature data.
PPF patching/un-patching of installed images.
Extended the ReadMe file to include a full description of the errors that can be reported.
(....har missat changelog för massor av uppdateringar mellan 1.5b2 och 1.6.6...)
V1.5 Beta 2
Corrected more partition bugs, mainly when image sizes were over 4Gb.
Added "Orphan" partition support. When a drive scan is done you are now given the option of adding any HDL format partitions that are not in your HDL Settings log file, this should stop most of the compatability problems with other PC image install software.
Corretecd the Settings log file size when adding images.
The Remove option will now delete the partition and blank it.
V1.5 Beta 1
Added Copy Drive & Debug functions and display of fragmented drive space. Also vastly improved the reporting of partition errors to aid with bug/problem solving in the future.
Corrected several bugs, illegal filename characters when extracting, persistant Add Image file list, increased checks for valid iso's and incorrect partition allocation for some images.
V1.4 Final
Rewritten large sections of the code, added proper batch Adding and Extraction of images, added Erase and Format options, added Print List option, added transfer statistics, cured a drive 0 bug and changed the way the partition module creates large partitions. Changed the icon and added a short ReadMe.
V1.4 beta 3
Added preservation of partition copyright message to stop WinHIIP from disabling DMS HD Explorer.
Disabling of checkboxes when performing operations.
Increased maximum sub partition size to 4Gb so that installing Iso's over 6Gb will work (untested).
V1.4 beta 2
Added "Add CD/DVD" option to install direct from your PC's CD/DVD Rom drive.
Added "Minimize" button to window.
Changed hard drive select to show all drives again but highlight which ones are PS2 formatted.
V1.4 beta 1
Added "Extract Image" option to take images off the PS2 HD and make iso files (no file splitting occurs so for large images you must use NTFS).
Added the ability to select multiple images for adding, they must all be in the same directory and will get default settings of their image name and no compatibility modes set.
Added drive scanning to the "Select Hard Drive" button so only valid PS2 hard drives will be listed.
Added a transfer rate display in megabytes per second.
Added rudimentry support for 98/ME although when selecting the drive it takes quite a while to respond as it has to manually work out the size of the hard drive by reading sectors (this is when the 2 Dll's are used).
BUG: I have found that if I have 2 PS2 formatted drives in my PC it does not write to the drive correctly. I can find no reason at the moment. This exists in all versions to date.
V1.3
Stable release.
Disables options during Add Image, system idles to stop XP not responding messages, has a fix to cope with large empty areas in the middle of the hard disc after HDL remove as been used and uses the correct sector size for the hard drive unlike V1.2 which used an ISO sector size (x 4).
V1.2 Update (Had a major bug, if you have it upgrade)
V1.1 Update
I have corrected several bugs, some serious, some not. If you have V1.0 I would scrap it and get V1.1
Well I finally finished it after about 30 hours coding over 11 days.
This program will transfer disc images to a PS2 format hard disc attached to your PC. The drive must have been formatted with HDL on the PS2 first. There is no NFO file as I hate writing manuals and the program is fairly easy to operate. I don't know if it will work with USB connected hard drives as I don't have an adaptor, it would be good if someone can check this out for me.
There is a small possibility of a problem with NTSC systems as part of the HDL partition configuration makes reference to a VMODE. I will add an option to change this if it is a problem.
I have done as much testing as I can, the rest is up to all of you
IMPORTANT NOTE:- At the moment WinHIIP is *NOT* compatible with Windows versions 95, 98 or Millenium. This is due to the method of hard drive access. I will perhaps change this if there is enough interest.
