Intresanta rykten om chip till 360:n

From what we have been able to gather, the first modchip for the 360 will be available within a month. Speaking to us under terms of anonymity, one source close to the research and development of some well known current-generation chips said, "We've been seeing partial success from some corners [in China] though nothing that could go on sale yet." This paints a dark picture of the console industry and the aggressive blight it suffers. "Everyone is working on a full-functioning 'do everything' chip that will take apart the 360 and let users do what they will, though we expect a first-generation bypass device that will allow back-ups within weeks. The first on the market is likely to be complex and might not be particularly good, though that's just a stopgap before real chips become available."

There is some hope for Microsoft however, "Everyone is finding it difficult [to make the chips work correctly] as Microsoft's security is the best we've seen to date for a disc-system. If it weren't for the fact that DVD is used, it's likely that further development wouldn't have been worth anyone's time."

With Xbox 360, we had the benefit of learning from our experiences on Xbox. This allowed us to identify points of weakness that were exploited by hackers in the first generation and to eliminate those vulnerabilities in Xbox 360.?

Står det också. Vilket gör att jag och många med mig tror på dvd-spelaren som den svaga länken i deras säkerhet. Den har ett separat eprom som sitter i spelaren och därför går att komma åt fysiskt. Det går också att avlyssna kommunikationen mellan xboxen och dvdn.
Det finns redan dumpar av epromet på nätet och det är inte heller något som hackades på xbox1 eftersom det inte behövdes. Vilket troligen innebär att de inte förstärkt säkerheten just där.
Jag såg någonstans att modchipet till sega's saturn var just en mod till cd-spelaren, så det går åtminstonde i teorin.

Men vad kommer en moddad 360 klara av?
Självklart backups och XBMC men kommer man tex kunna spela in TVprogram på Hdn mm?

Vad kan en moddad 360 göra mer en den första Boxen?

Jag tror ingen vet utan vill veta vad den är kapabel till med tanke på att hårdvaran har uppgraderats ganska mycket,

Spela in tv måste man väl ha en tvmottagare i XBOXen , så det går nog bort.

Men skulle det nedan gå skuille det vara toppen.

HD Filmer i 720P/1080P i XBMC skulle sitta fint
Köra Linux med GUI osv nu när det finns lite minne att jobba med.
