Warez Declared Legal [General] [nerpish@4:19AM EST]
In a bold and stunning move, the U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that any form of copyright infringement is legal.
"You know, it is pretty cool watching movies before all my friends can get the DVDs at Blockbuster," said Atty. General John Ashcroft. "I've seen the light. I want my (expletive) for free, damnit."
The move marks a drastic change in how media and ideas will travel in this new electronic world.
"I'm (expletive) pissed!" said Metallica Drummer, Lars Ulrich. "We (expletive) get napster removed, and now this!? We should have lobbied against the supreme court, I guess" he added.
Sony issued a press release moments after the judicial decision indicating they are disbanding all movie, music, and publishing operations immediatley. In the same release, they announced a new line of larger capacity hard drives to hit the market in time for the holiday shopping season.
AOL/Time Warner executives could not be reached for comment. Early unconfirmed reports state their corporate HQ is on fire and employees are fighting in the parking garage, naked.
