KaKaRoTo was the first person to ever release custom firmware for the PS3 and now he’s taken a huge leap forward - The dude has managed to get a 3.73 Jailbreak “kind of” working. The saiyajin will take at least a couple of weeks to release it due to generally having a life like most people. Unfortunately you will not be able to run any backup managers on 3.73 Jailbreak – Not yet at least .

works just to make sure I don’t tweet any false hopes

Jag vill inte förstöra den glädje även jag precis kände av att läsa detta, men som KaKaRoTo själv skriver så är detta alltså bara ett av flera steg som är löst.
Processen består av tre steg (med flera steg i varandra);
* Installera osignerad data.
* Exekvera osignerad data.
* Patcha firmwaren (Peek & Poke)

För tillfället har man alltså lyckats installera osignerad data, inte exekverat och inte på långa vägar patchat en firmware som tillåter detta "on-the-fly".
KaKaRoTo säger också själv att lösningen kräver en del komponenter som han själv inte kan framställa i och med att det inte är hans område.
När den dagen kommer då han annonserar sin exploit så kommer det krävas ytterligare ansvar ifrån andra kunniga utvecklare att ta över från där han avslutat sitt arbete.
